This list of search engines and indexes is not comprehensive, but instead attempts to include tools most useful to marketing researchers, to exclude sites that require subscriptions or that include pop-up advertising, and to minimize redundancy.  Sources of more comprehensive and detailed lists include Fagan Finder and Search Engine Watch.
